Really as title suggests.
Your personal pros and/or cons of both?

I've had a both, and felt more secure in my jumping/close contact saddle, but felt my position was sometimes sacrificed in it-vice versa with GP!

I want to event, and could never afford a dressage and jumping saddle so wondering what to do!

Also can u get close contact GP, or slightly jumping cut GPs?

I think if you plan on eventing that a good jumping saddle is the best way to go, you need to be secure and confident when jumping, most GPs are not forward enough.
You could possibly save and buy a second hand synthetic dressage in the future.

I love my jumping saddle (Frank Baines close contact). I feel about ten foot above the horse when I ride in people's squashy Barnsby saddles etc. There is so much foam in the seat, massive knee blocks, big knee rolls. Bleurgh. I like to find my own balance and I feel like I'm being forced in a GP. I do dressage in my jumping saddle occasionally too. I don't think I ride any worse in my jump saddle than I did in a GP. In fact I think I ride better!

I have a GP and I really like it especally for jumping, being verticaly challenged I have to ride super short to feel secure in a jumping saddle but my gp lets me ride at a more appropreate length for when the pony wobbles round before a fence. But its not a super blocky gp it has knee rolls but not massive ones. I really want a dressage saddle though but definatly wont be swapping my gp for a jumping if I do get one.
