Erm, I absolutley llove mine... its regulated enough for european safety isnt it... that said, i dont feel is gives as much allround protection as my charles owen XC hat...

for what reason wouldn't they be safe - care to elaborate??!!!

I don't have one myself but a couple of the girls at the yard do and have had no problems so far.

they are not the highest safety standard. I think they have the european safety standard rather than the top UK one...something like that....

like mine though...dont like how big some of the new new ones look

The first few lots weren't kitemarked so were not allowed in BE/PC/RC but the ones sold more recently have been so I would check if buying one.

Gpa hats havnt got the best reputation for safety but people like them as they are more fashionable. Personally i put safety above fashion and want a higher safety standard than they offer for £200!

I like my one. Ive got the Xtreme one (rubberised finish) with just the srip down the front, not the very first model though. I wouldnt buy the one with the big ventilation holes in though as cant imagine they are solid enough. I do think mine is sturdy though. Mine is very lightweight compared to my Charles Owen XC hat, I don't think heavy means its particularily better as such though. I love both hats.

They all vary - they all have to be kitemarked however they each vary in the different tests they put them under to a degree. I think it was that Lucinda Green one (the one which covers your ears?) which was the "safest", so I guess get that one.
