I used my GPA all last year to event and never got told not to use it.

Was just wondering as I am getting a new one b4 Poplar and will obviously need to get it tagged

The GPA Airflow is the £300 one i think... They're all BSJA legal, but i know that the GPA hats tend not to get such high safety ratings as say the Champion ones

Mind you, almost anything goes in BSJA so........

Its just the normal one I will be getting.

Do like the titanium but dont want to look to chav eventing!!

Where would I find out about these hats being legal BE????

I do love my GPA, in the summer I dont think I could wear anything else!! It has faded lots though and its now grey rather than black/ charcoal so me think that if I ever have a sound horse I might invest in a new one

From the BE website...

[ QUOTE ]
*Hard Hat of PAS 015, ASTM F1163 or BS EN1384 with Kite mark, SEI or QAS mark, with visible BE checked tag, is compulsory for show jumping & cross – country phases and the harness must be correctly fastened at all times when the rider is mounted.

Just re-read the quote from the rule book and my interpretation would be that the GPA is not allowed unless it carries the kitemark, SEI or QAS as well as the BS EN1384.

Looked on my GPA and cannot for the life of me see the kite mark or the other marks so guess it would not pass a BE inspection?

I was sure that I read somewhere that they weren`t allowed in BE or x-c anywhere that also have BE on the site due to the vents in them as they have to be a solid hat, and with the many air vents in them, they are not as strong. I went to a hunter trials and luckily I asked them and due to the answer, I had to buy a skull cap. I paid £85 and have only used it about 6 times! Gone back into BSJA now.
