Right, everyone knows microchipping ur pets is a good idea ye?

Well I have heard of this concept but dont know if it acutally exists or not....... like is it reality or gossip still?

I heard about an implant similar to microchip that would allow you to basically GPS track your pet if they ran away or were stolen etc?

My sister/mums cat ran away over the weekend, came back at 3am monday morning, and mum was devastated the whole weekend, as was the kittys brother (my cat) who adores her!
If this was feasible or exists even, could someone let me know as we want to get her done incase it happens again! stupid crazy kitty!

Sorry know its not dogs, but I guess it would apply to dogs too!!!

I think you can maybe get GPS collars? I have always thought GPs/trackers in microchips would be a great idea to have in horses/dogs etc - would be a great thief deterrent! Mind you, not sure what the potential the physical implications could be!

ye well thats what I thought, hey mint invention, would make a fortune, but then maybe if they have not been invented there may be a reason.........

Il try looking up GPS collars, just dont like collars on cats as they have a tendency to get them stuck! (silly felines!)

Lolat this post, have had this convo with my OH, he said, it would need to run of battery, which would not keep charge for long, and would need to be within the body, as a collar with gps could still be removed if the animal was stolen

I also thought, if it was fesable it would be done by now or atleast in the processes.

ye, I hadnt really thought about the need for a battery, although now stated seems BLATENTLY obvious (hehe woopsy by me!)

still think someone should invent it though, a microchip GPS!!!

ye collars are the best attempt so far I think, but like any collar it goes on and comes off just as easily!
