I have just had the final bandage change done on Grace's hind legs after the PSD operation, and I cannot believe how little scarring there is

I couldn't even see them until my vet pointed out exactly where they are!

He has said the scars are looking really good, and although there is a little swelling, it should start to go down with time

I am so pleased, I imagined the scars to be pretty gruesome, but they are fantastic!

We could finally be on our way to a sound and healthy horse.... TOUCH WOOD!

I did get some pictures of the scars, but you can't see a thing, so I didn't think they would be of much interest to people

Yeah... the colic scar is looking pretty good. She has a small abscess that is being caused by one of the sutures, but it is looking ready to pop very soon, and I have been assured by the surgeon and my own vet that it is absolutely nothing to worry about. It has a nickname, and is quite common, but I can't remember it. I think they called it a knot something or other

I thought they would be gruesome... but I was actually looking at the wrong thing for a good few minutes

I just couldn't see them!

He said it is a combination of bandaging and being box rested and that it is nothing to worry about

Hmmm, this vet knows me far too well
