grackle noseband and martingale?

just a quick, possibly silly Q, can you use a standing martingale with a grackle and if so would you put in on the higher piece of noseband or the lower one?

no i wouldnt think so
when i did mounted games you used to see ponies with grackles and cavesons on, so the standing martingale could be attatched to the caveson
 
Thanks guys, I didnt think it would be possible as like you said it would either damage the nose or not come into effect. Its not for my horse its for a girl at my yard whos horse keeps putting his head literally vertical in the air and p!ssing off!
Shes had all the relevant checks done but shes only had him a month and before that (according to the saddler) he has had badly fitting saddles so think it would stem from that even tho hes in no pain now

Hes curently just ridden in a running martigale atm but still does it, wondered if standing would have more effect for her
 
No.

You can use one with a flash and that's actually what they were designed for - people who rode with a drop and also wanted to use a standing martingale.
