Grackle v flash

Hi please could you guys help me with a dilemma?

Which one of the two is the most severe?

Which one would be the most suitable for my horse who opens his mouth and crosses his jaws?

A grackle would be best if he is crossing his jaw - it works higher up, rather than just around the mouth. Personally though I would prefer to see a drop used rather than a flash, however I think you would be best with a grackle on what oyu have said.

Thank you for your help. How would a grackle be fitted? Unfortunately, I cannot get a drop to fit him, he takes a 6 1/2" bit!!

As said, the grackle will help stop him crossing his jaw.

It depends on what type of grackle as to how it fits.

I'm also a fan of drop nosebands, as they are effective but you don't have to do them up really tight
