So as all eyes turn to Aintree, who are you going to be putting your money on?

Will AP McCoy finally break his duck or will Sam Waley-Cohen become the first amateur jockey to win the race since Marcus Armytage's great achievement back in 1990?

Well, I usually just work on statistics and seem to get a winner most years...34 out of the last 36 winners have been 9 years old and carrying less than 11 stone.. try and go for one that has won over 3 miles...

Ones I am looking at are Butlers Cabin, State of Play, Offshore Account, Mon Mome and Campenaro.. My only exception to the above is Black Apalachi who I think will run a big race..

Snowy Morning! Chosen because of his name.

The GN is always far more open than any other race, and no matter how well prepared the horse is, you cannot predict what the other runners will do, or where they will fall.

I think you can eliminate certain horses from the GN by virtue of the weight/age statistics, but generally, once you've discounted the no-hopers, it's anybodies race.

I haven't seen the latest list of runners but the four I've had my eye on are;
Black Apalcia
Iron Man
Brooklyn Brownie
My Will

Hopefully they are still running!

Would have been on BA but he is a soft ground lover his win in the Beecher was on heavy ground and other win this season on soft and the ground is looking pretty fast he also has a fair bit of weight.
Undecided on who to back yet, maybe eurotrek for an outsider.

I've been given a tip for State of Play..the guy that has given me the tip has been bang on the money in the last two races....and the horse is Welsh so got to back my own nation!

State of Play has my backing
