Briefly:

A family locked 8 or more dogs in a kitchen never to be seen by them and starved to death.

the sentencing is just appalling:
She was given an 18 week prison sentence suspended for 12 months at a court appearance last month.
On Friday Damon Hessin was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison suspended for 12 months and ordered to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work.
The same day Hazel Hessin was given an eight week sentence suspended for six months and ordered to attend a 10-day training course.
Both were ordered to pay £180 court costs and a £80 victim surcharge.

Is it just me or is the sentence not good enough for what they have done.

Quite frankly prison would have been too good for them. they need to have been deprived of food for however long it took.
 
That has made me cry. I don't understand why anyone would cause so much suffering. Horrible people, I hope they have miserable lives and that those around them never let them forget what they have done.
 
A lifetime ban is great but means little in reality. The sentences are far too small. This is the kind of thing that just makes me die a little bit inside that people can do it. Those poor, poor pups :(

Life bans can be enforced it may be difficult but without a ban they can just start again .
 
Low life evil scum the lot of them, it just beggars belief that they all knew the dogs were down there starving yet they did nothing that is just cruelty at the highest level I am afraid.
 
They want locking up and the key throwing away so they can find out for themselves what an horrific slow death those poor pups would have had :(
 
Who does the victim surcharge get paid to? Given that the victims in this case are sadly long past any help.

Also, what sort of training course does the daughter have to attend? As she now has a lifetime ban for keeping animals it is too late for any sort of animal husbandry course.

This came up on my Facebook page along with a report on someone who tried to tried to smash his Jack Russell pup's skull. Makes you wonder what sort of world we live in.
 
Read on line earlier. its dreadful and sentance stinks. And excuse ?pathetic to extreme. But those wee puppies are at peace now. no pain or suffering . no not knowing what life will give them. but gambolling around Rainbow Bridge. RIP little ones . forever safe now x
