How on earth do I get rid of it!

My gelding looks like he is with child and I cant do anything to slim him down

He is out 24/7 in an almost bare field and he is still very large. He is not fat anywhere except his belly.

Is there anything I can give him to get rid of it or am i stuck until winter?

He is ridden 4 times a week and gets no extra feed

Oh and he was wormed 4 weeks ago.

Hi.

The field has plenty of stuff to graze on, except the grass is not good quality any more therefore is suitable for fatties now. They have grazed it right down but there is still enough to graze on it just isnt lush or green. He does get hay when he comes in every day for an hour or 2 to be groomed etc.

Thanks

I wonder if some horses are just like this? Mine has a big belly but then she has other problems - she has cushings. But yo has a mare who looks pregnant constantly, so many people have commented on it that he even got her scanned once to prove a point! The 5 others she is turned out with are fine, it's just her so I can only assume some horses just get grass bellies no matter what.

I have the same issue! Mine gets ridden 6 or 7 days a week, and is really quite fit. It's just his belly that looks like he's going to be floating away any second; the rest of him is pretty trim and muscly. He was like this through the whole winter, too!
