my boy has been getting them quite bad recently, he comes in over night in his sand paddock and has haylage so they can go down for when he gets ridden in the morn as its hard for him to work in an outline when their swollen. but recently they are not going all the way down over night, they are still a tadd swollen the next morning. i dont fully understand the reason for the swelling myself but wondered if there is anything i can give him??

A friend at the yard has this problem, if I remember right I think milk thistle helps, its meant to be an anti-oxidant. It doesn't smell very nice though so you might have to disguise it in his feed!

Are they liver related?

I ask because the Dizz has Milk Thistle to counteract the effect of the Bute etc. on the liver. She had a fair bit earlier in the year.
