Grass/ hay analysis- Dodson&Horrell or Forage Plus?

Dodson and Horrell seems much cheaper (I expect there's a reason for that- though no idea what) than Forage Plus. Why?

Would the Comprehensive Mineral Analysis be sufficient to give me the knowledge to supplement my horse according to what he is actually lacking?

Hi,

I used Forageplus for my analysis and had the interpretation done independently.
FP only gives you an analysis but will interpret for you at extra cost. If D&H also advise what to supplement in order to balance I would be really interested as at £30-47 thats very good value!

I just ordered a Forageplus full mineral analysis as I got the impression (might be wrong) that they test for more minerals than D&H. We shall see.
Out of interest Lancelot, the sampling info says to collect around I think 400gm - can you give me an idea what size envelope is needed to this sort of quantity? I am metrically as well as spatially challenged, I think!!

I got sent a sample bag & a postal envelope as part of the "kit". Mine was just a grass analysis so not sure what you get for a hay/haylage test

Forage Plus - you get the proper mineral break down and then each ingredient worked out for your individual horse
