grass livery costs

Ehmm, difficult this one. I have a friend who pays a tenner a week, per horse, and for that she gets good grazing with mains water and a loose-box available, however there is a bit of grace and favour in that when the owners are away she takes sole charge which is why its cheap. This is in fantastic riding country and the owners could charge a great deal more and they'd easily get it.

Around here (East Devon) you could realistically expect to pay between £10 - £15'ish for DIY grass livery (usually with a loosebox). I run a smallholding and only have space for a couple of horses, and I charge a tenner a week, and for that they get 3 acres plus a huge loose-box, and that's strictly DIY, I don't get involved with anything, apart from just being here in case something happens, in which case I woudl give them a ring ASAP. The riding here is OK'ish, a bit of road work before you get anywhere, but it could be worse, and its easily accessible not stuck out in the sticks up a dirt track.

So it varies. Personally I think its worth paying a bit extra if you've got nice riding on the doorstep.

The yard i am currently at on part livery charges 30 pound a week for grass livery.

WOW! That's more than my stable rent (£22.50 a week)! And it's not much less than my livery once I've paid for adlib hay/haylage and lorry parking.

Around here grass livery tends to be about £15 a week.
