Boring I know, but could do with some help from the oh-so knowledgeable folk of HHO:).

Ok... so grass livery for winter turnout. Perfect set up,, large fields with plenty of grass and shelter from all angles. Hard standing track running through fields (post and rail fencing either side) into large compound area (again hard-standing, great for drying feet out). Round bale feeder in compound,, YO tops feeder up daily (doesn't put bale in as horses tend to pig out too much:D). YO would also feed horse at the same time as she does hers, to save any problems with horses barging gate etc at tea time (hard feed not included, haylage is). Erm,, what else.. secure, fields right next to yard owners house,, automatic drinkers.

How much would you expect to pay?

Thankies:)

Seriously depends on the geographically of where you live and how much you're willing to pay for what sounds like excellent facilities. I'm a sucker for a good yard.......£20 per week?

We pay £10 a week for our grazing & that includes haylage if its put out in the winter, lovely fields & plenty of good grazing. Though we are in West Wales which is usually cheaper than most places.

I pay £30 per week - but am in the south east! Sounds identical set up to yours, with 2 sandschools, off road hacking & XC fields too and a lovely owner so its well worth the £££

How much do you lot pay !!!! : 0
I rent a lovely field which is all year turn out for £5 a horse per week. It's a 5 min walk from the yard I rent which is very posh, all rubber matted, auto drinker, lunge pen, school, gallops, walker all for £14.50 per stable per week. Also have a field there but perfer to rent the one down the road as well to turn away project horses to chill and think though their work. No way would I pay 30 a week for stable let alone grass livery. Madness

In my area, DIY livery with year round grazing and a stable can vary from £15 upwards, so I would say stay with in the £10-20 range. Any more is probably a bit much for a single horse owner not looking for stabling ect xx

I live in Devon and offer DIY livery: I.e. loosebox with all year turnout. Mains water/electricity in yard, I live on premises, field drained, very accessable from main trunk road. I charge £15 per week per horse (no concession for shetties!); if they have trailer/lorry then I charge £10 per week for storage of a lorry; £5 a week for a trailer. No sandschool. OK'ish riding, could be better, could be worse.

Another yard I know in the area is a BHS livery yard and they charge £35 for DIY livery; £50 for working livery; £80 for full livery. Their's is a proper competition-standard yard with all the trimmings, i.e. indoor & outdoor school, solarium the lot, plus fantastic hacking.

So you pays your money and takes your chance.
