Hiya,

I really need to move my horses from Sheffield to the Wirral due to some issues. I have two horses, both geldings: one is a dartmoor x and the other is a cob. They both live out all year and so I was hoping to get a good grass livery - one with good grazing management and good fences. A school would be nice but if the hacking is good it's not totally necessary, but I will need somewhere to put tack!

I REALLY hope you guys can help me out. I'm in Neston for a point of reference, but I don't mind a bit of driving.

Barnston Riding School has now shut down but the owner is now advertising for full grass livery, which includes use of an outdoor school. I think it's now called Gills Lane Livery.
If you are on FB check out 'Anything Equine Wirral' and have a look on there too.

Thanks! I found Gills Lane Livery on facebook and dropped them a line, and I'm gonna look into the Anything Equine Wirral. Looks hopeful for grass up here, doesn't it?

If anyone has any other suggestions, let me know!

If I was closer to there I would consider it myself! I'm more Chester way though. I'd also try www.cheshirehorse.co.uk if you haven't already and the forum on there too :)

There are more horses per acre on the Wirral than anywhere in the UK I have heard and because of that it is fairly expensive. There are some really lovely yards and also some not so lovely ones! Not that many offer grass livery. Have a look on the forum part of www.wirralhorse.co.uk there are a few private yards advertising diy that sound quite nice and there was someone advertising grazing in Burton not long ago

You could also put a wanted ad on there, I can guarantee two of the yards that will reply and I am not sure they are ones I would want to go to as they seem to have a high turnover

Still looking, really hoping...

I can't do DIY cause my cob-type in particular does absolutely not cope with being stabled. I only bring him in if he really needs to be in, like if he's lame. I'm really hoping I'll manage to swing grass otherwise they'll have to both stay in Sheffield which is not good fun!

I will try a wanted ad. I'll make sure to pop around any yard first ;)
