How much isn't round our way (please say roughly where) and how do you cope in winter if it's literally just a field. Do you tack up and go?

I can't see where you are as I'm on my phone but Surrey/Sussex border is £100-£275 a month, depends on facilities, type of grazing ( sand more than clay). I had a pony in just a field, no tie up area or anything, tbh it was a nightmare, I hardly rode in winter and would have been stuck had she been ill or injured and needed a stable.

Grass livery at my yard is £25 a week, with a £5 discount if you pay before the 5th of the month. For that you get a field, good grazing, can be strip grazed and regularly rotated, nice hilly fields with natural shelter. Use of a lit stable yard, wash down area, tack room, small pens/fields on yard where horses can be left for farrier, good hacking, flood lit school, well maintained yard.

I've paid £1 per day for just grazing before but riding was a norse as I had no storage and had to tie the pony to the field gate to groom and tack up. Most places round here are about £15 per week including storage for tack, hay, etc. I'm in Bristol.

I pay £23 per week which includes hayledge in winter with great hacking and a school plus access to a stable if required. However they are on good grazing in a large mixed herd so wouldn't suit every horse.
