As above....
Question regarding feed.

8am he gets 1.5 kg hard food then is turned out to graze.
12pm 1kg hard food
Grazing till 6ish
He is then stabled over night and gets 1kg hard food and ad-lib hay and fresh alfalfa.
I am concerned that the he is not getting enough nutrition from the grass during the day. How nutritious is winter grass ?
Work load schooled 3 times a week and hacked out once a week.

If you are feeding good quality hay/haylage that should make up for any nutrition lacking in the grass at this time of yr.

If you are still concerned then a good quality balancer or vits and mins supplement should suffice.

I am a little suprised that your horse is having 3 hard feeds a day on that workload - my hunter gets less between 2 feeds and is in full work and hunting twice a week.
