Grass Roots TV Series - Yonks ago!

Does anyone remember the television series called 'Grass Roots' (I think!)

It was based on racehorses, rich people, owners & trainers etc - From what I recall it was almost a Jilly Cooper Riders style storyline......

I suddenly have a real hankering to watch it and cannot find anything about it anywhere!

Nothing comes to mind (or iMdb) by that name. . . could you possibly be thinking of "Trainer"? It was about a young racehorse trainer and his staff, clients etc. and it did get quite "soap opera-y" as they clung desperately to their ratings. Cliff Richard sang the theme song.

I remember 'Trainer' - it suddenly dissapeared, mid series..... Apparently the ratings were not good, but I enjoyed it

it was american wasnt it.. and by yonks ago i seem to recall someting like twenty years ago.. *goes off to google!*

The only 2 I can think of are trainer and rough diamond....rough diamond was more recent I think, set in Ireland.
