put my horse down to one pile of haylage yesterday felt guilty not going down to see him last night but he was fine this morning as the grass is growing now and he just hacks out twice a week to keep him ticking he's a 2 day a week hunter so don't like him to get too fat !!! has anyone else stopped feeding yet, only fed prolonged haylage as the paddocks were so bad with all this rain.

I'm jealous. Put ours out on the summer grazing & removed rugs in March. Rugs are back on as is the winter feeding regime and they are back in the school and winter grazing!! Managed to get fertiliser on haylage fields & 1 other field today - the rest are too wet. Only up side is that the garden doesn't need cut very often..

Yep...my big boy had no feed or hay today and a small hay net is in the stable for when he comes in in the morning. He will have his rug off too :D

I felt really bad but you do have to be Cruel to be kind i just kept his lightweight on to keep clean as he has been clipped and you can still see his saddle patch !! i usually go down twice a day but just do mornings now I said to my husband when I got back this morning "he's not dead " tongue very much in cheek !!

I stopped putting hay out at end of march, grass is growing at a crazy rate (under the puddles...) so plenty to eat.
