:confused:ok, if you have a very wet horse how about putting the holely version of grass mats (the ones which you put in the gate way) in the stable as a way to improve the drainage.

i thought of two ways to use them,

1. just on there own with a bed on top, problem i can see is that it might be a problem sweeping out, but ok if you had a deep litter bed.

2. putting them under a normal rubber mat, so improving the drainage ok expensive but you might save money in the long term.

ok please pull apart these ideas

choccy for anyone with other suggestions

I don't imagine it would help at all? I know someone that put them down at the horses hay and water as the floor was uneven. Food and hay used to get trapped down it :/

I currently have 2 grass mats in my stable doorway, as my horse is very wet. Deep littering made it worse. Found the deeper the bed the cleaner he is.
I find as my boy is nosey he tends to pee and poo in his doorway and the grass mats keep the mess out of his feet to a degree ( currently being treated for deep sulcus thrush so grass mats are helping with that) aswell as allowing drainage . They aren't the easiest to sweep but are very light to lift and move. And mess just pops out in little cubes :)
