Grazed back and sunburn

I had my daughters pony at pony club on Wednesday. He has never been a good loader but went into the trailer straight away however before we put the back ramp up he freaked and panicked and was backing up trying to get under back bar anyway my husband went in jockey door to untie him and he managed to get under the breast bar and out the jockey door. Very traumatic for everybody there and has resulted in him with a grazed sore back. He has taken a strip of hair off right down his back and although the skin is not broken it is sore. He has very pale skin and I am worried about it getting sunburnt. In a few areas the skin is quite raw and I am not sure about putting suncream into it. I have put purple spray onto it this morning. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Do you have or could you get a decent UV fly rug? You could put cream on underneath and then the fly rug should stop him getting burned and will keep flies off his skin as well.

Sudocreme should protect the skin and help healing as it is antiseptic.

Sudocrem is also a sun block-so will sooth and heal the skin whilst also protecting it from the sun, alternatively a fly rug will also work.
