The Shires ones look good, and affordable, can anyone recommend?

I've read that they restrict intake by up to 75%, I don't think I want to reduce the intake that much, how easy would it be to make the hole bigger?

I am at work all day so my horse is out for about 12 hours, is this too long with a mask on?

Many thanks

I have a shires one, like most people I know who use one, it has had to be modified. Some line them with a fleece type material to prevent rubbing, (I have actually cut around the jaw area of the mask to alleviate rubbing, but he still has small rubs).

I bring Teds in from 9am till 4pm, small haynet and then he is out the rest of the time wearing his mask. He is a fat Welsh B and using the mask has helped in terms of weight loss.....still a way to go though!!

I bought the cob sized one for my mare who wears cob sized everything. It rubbed. I padded it with sheepskin, it still rubbed. After some research on tinternet many people suggested going up a size. The full size looked huge but I tried it. Result no more rubbing.

I estimate it reduces my mares intake by about a third. I have a third less droppings on the days she has it on 24hrs than on the days she has it off.
