Any thoughts on which is the better mask? The shires mask or the km elite deluxe padded one? Never had to use a grazing mask before so don't know much about them!
Thankies

J has the shires one. I did have to add some sheepskin padding round the nose though as he's so sensitive everything rubs! Dunno anything about the other one sorry. Is your boy getting portly?

Just a tad! Ive renamed him fatson haha! Heard good things about the shires one, but the kmelite says its padded to help stop rubbing? i'm also hoping that the grazing muzzle might make the wee bu**er easier to catch! He can always have hay when he comes in

I have the shires one and did sew on a nose band of sheepy skin stuff to pad it out a bit

I havent found it to rub much at all.... just a little bit on the chin and the bony bits at the side of the upper head... hoep you know where I mean

More ruffled hair than rubbing though

Thats great thanks, i have a sheepskin noseband kicking about so thats not a problem. This is proabably a weird question, but have you found they make horses headshy/reluctant to have their face touched? mine is already a bit like this and i dont want to make it worse! x

Hi
I use thie shires one, and i agree about rubbing the bony bit a little, but nothing drastic. My horse isn't head shy, the bu**er just won't let me catch her to put it on! (She only has it on during the day) I've ended up just using it whilst I'm away so she doens't put on too much weight and I can leave it to the yard lad to catch her!

lol, mine is a nightmare to catch when the grass is about and since he is turning into a whale anyway i thought some restricted grazing plus soaked hay when he comes in might be an option! sneaky mum
