I have a 23yr old 15:3hh Dales X Shire. Never had laminitis before. Now got it in all 4 feet. Progressing well and now down to 1 bute a day but the rain a couple of nights ago has set her back and is now walking badly again. Anyway, I have to get her a grazing muzzle - can anyone recommend a particular one? Bearing in mind she is a big girl and her bridle is XL. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

I have just bought green guard ones for my lads. One is Full ID 16.3 and the other ISH 16.2, the ID is XF and ISH is Full and they seem to fit fine, they are expensive and I would buy the headcollar too but I always think paying a little more for something that works is better than 1. wasting money and 2 losing the horse. I feel for you, mine is getting the all clear hopefully this morning to be able to go out again.

I use a Greenguard on my NF 'good doer' (read, puts on a crest overnight). He is an escapologist and despite his best efforts he cannot get out of this one.

It took him about five minutes to work out how to use it and he's quite happy wearing it.

I was just about to post an identical question to this! Sorry to gate-crash! Anyone know the best one for a tiny Welsh A - normal "pony" headcollars are too big!

Thanks

Just wondered should he be out even with a muzzle at this stage - would he not be better off inside on deep bed of shavings?

I use the best friend one's, they come in many sizes and they can attach to your own headcollar.

I've seen on other muzzle posts people mention Dinky Muzzles (I think that's what they're called). Have a google.
