Hi, our pony needs to have restricted grazing in the spring / summer, not our place so very limited what we can do - did a best friends grazing muzzle last summer but it wore his front teeth down - any other suggestions alternative muzzles or what to do please

They shouldn't wear his teeth down any more than normal? I like the shires muzzles; If you can't restrict the grazing or a muzzle doesn't work then stable him during the day and out at night.

Failing that plead with YO to fence off a small paddock and feed soaked hay

Thanks for your reply 0 - dentist did say his front teeth were wearing down - maybe it's because he changes the way he would eat normally?

The same thing happened to a friends horse with a greenguard. I think it's the way they are desperately trying to get grass through the holes, scraping their teeth constantly against the plastic.

The dentists wasn't too worried about it though, said it wouldn't effect her. Better than laminitus.

I like the shires muzzle, although I cut the hole a little bit bigger so they can get a little bit (my boy couldn't eat at all when I first put it on). Mine's lasted years.
