Hi all,

I think I'm worrying too much and being a over protective 'mummy' but in the spring/summer I will NEED to put a grazing muzzle on my boy, as I now know haffy's are prone to lami, and also he's a very very very good doer! ;)

However, the big herd of geldings only he's in are constantly playing, nipping each other. (I'm not saying it's a bad thing because my little b***ers normally the instigator!) And when he's got his muzzle on, he wont be able to play / defend himself. I don't want him getting upset about not being able to play properly, or getting bullied. Sounds stupid I know. He'll be out 24/7 during the summer.

What would you suggest, should I just keep an eye on them all and him when the spring comes?

Thank you for reading, and thanks in advance for any advice :)

My horse has had a muzzle on for the past 4 years and every year I worry about this and our herd os very lively too, but there is so much grass in the summer that they tend not to play as much and I have seen my horse play and mutual groom (in a fashion) with the muzzle on. I keep him in over night while the grass is long and try and give him at least some time with it off even if just half and hour.

If introduced properly your horses should accept the muzzle fine x
