Considering using a muzzle on my 2yo as she is really inflating as the grass comes through. She is in at night so deflates quite a bit and on Horsehage fattys haylage as I cant get square bales of hay. Out with my yearling.
Anyone used one on a youngster?

Never used one on a youngster as I tend not to rug them and keep them out 24/7 during the winter so they go into the spring a little lean.

What breed/type is she? Also is she two this year or three?

I have used a muzzle on a youngster. I was concerned about his teeth, but was reassured by my vet that using a muzzle wouldn't have any effect on them. Its not ideal, but has to be better than getting laminitis or having to spend loads of time in the stable instead of being out and about in the field every day.
