So my boy occasionally gets his muzzle off and there’s a footpath through the field. So I got there today and no sign of it. Walked the seven acres three times round! Annoyingly it’s a thin line £75 with a leather head collar attached. Some delightful soul has nicked it! So fed up!

Oh no, thieving scumbags, I'm so sorry. 🤬🤬 What a loss.

How frustrating. Hopefully it will turn up.

Many years ago a horse at a yard I was at had its rug stolen off its back in the field. The owner replaced it only to have it stolen again. However this time she had marked it all over with her postcode and she found it abandoned not far away.

Hopefully it's a Houdini case rather than stolen 🤞

The quality of the FF muzzles isn't great IME & they aren't that difficult to get off, if they are committed to doing so.

It used to turn up in pieces days after thoroughly searching. Hopefully yours will turn up in one piece!

I haven’t replaced mine after my pony got it off and I think a dog walker (also a footpath through our field) must have let their dog play with it. The headcollar was chewed right off the muzzle and two of the plastic ‘petals’ were chewed off the muzzle. As it was plastic/material that was chewed I don’t think it was a fox, but I could be wrong.

I bought an ultimate muzzle to tide me over (the chewing happened last September/October) till the end of the season, but actually it worked well and he’s worn it all this year too. It did rub a little, under his chin, but just took the hair off rather than cause sore skin. It’s been pretty tough, he’s been happy in it (obviously not as happy as muzzle free! 😂) but I’ve been pleased with it.

It’s so frustrating tho, so I feel your pain! I was livid at the time!

Possibly taken by a fox. Have “lost” boots and headcollars recently. Things turn up several fields away with the leather chewed.
Was gonna say this they often drag them into hedges so might be worth a look, I have found fly masks on the path behind my field the foxes have left a nice pile on a few of them, lovely 😳

I lost a really nice flymask at one point, couldn't find it anywhere. Found it deep in the tanglewood behind the field months later when I was being adventurous, suspect foxes had found it and dragged it in!

I'd also bet on Mr Fox... A couple of years ago during summer one of my horses lost a hoof boot in the field, so should have been easy to find. I searched for days, no sign. 6 months later when I was going to catch him in for physio, there it was just sat on the grass! I guess Mr Fox decided it was not worth keeping so brought it back 😂
