Anyone have any experience of grazing muzzles and teeth wear? Can wearing a grazing muzzle have any impact on a horses mouth, jaw, teeth? I am going to speak to my equine dentist tomorrow but would appreciate anyones experience or thoughts?

Thanks! :)

Haven't got any research or scientific evidence. .. but my mare wears a muzzle every summer and has her teeth done every autumn. She has a normal wear pattern with a few sharp edges by the time she's due for the dentist. I'm always told that's pretty normal :)

Mine has worn a greenguard over 3 summers, haven't explicitly raised it with the dentist but he hasn't picked up any abnormal wear, just the usual sharp bits at the back which he has always had.

Mine has worn a shires every summer for 5 years and like others have said, he has normal wear and the dentist has never suggested any problems. Good Luck

Hi...Mine was in a green guard muzzle last year and the wear on his front upper teeth was terrible....My vet warned me not to use it again. Five out of the six on the yard all had varying degrees of wear but mine was shocking !
