grazing muzzles - recommendations

I can see that George is going to need a grazing muzzle in the near future, he is turning into quite a rotund boy and our grass is rather lush to say the least. So although I am worried about him having to wear a muzzle I would rather that than him get dangerously fat. So which ones would you recommend, it would need to be one a slightly dim

horse would get the gist of quickly or I suspect he will get frustrated. Also do you worry turning them out in them as surely it is like putting him out in a nylon headcollar that won't break in an emergency

they have velcro on them so that if they get stuck on something it comes off, Buddie has a purple one, not that it works! I put a headcollar over it and he still gets it off!

I have a greenguard one, which is fabulous in most respects. It's in it's 4th summer now (well 3 1/2!) and it's still okay.
It depends on how determined he would be though. Mine lost all four straps and as far as I can tell you can't buy replacements, so I have to use string, which can be slightly annoying as it can take a while to get it 'perfect'. When you actually do find that exact balance, were it's comfortable for them but they can't eat around it, he usually breaks the string!
However, apparently it cuts down grazing buy 50% or something and when it's on properly its great and I would highly reccomend it

I bought a shires one, looks a bit restrictive, but works well.

best mate one, its the only one that hasnt rubbed my boy sore, he has the hang of it and is quite happy in it. It has a built in break point.

The best friend one is better than the shirs because it has a deeper muzzle so it's harder for them to get it off. Do watch out for rubs, you may find that you need to wrap the whole thing in fleecy material
