Grazing muzzles

Hiya,
People have different views on muzzles. My youngster is VERY prone to putting on weight and being at risk of lami so he has his on all day then he is stabled (obviously without his muzzle) overnight. If he was living out I think I would leave it on during the day and take it off him overnight. Hope this helps?

My grey needs his (shires) muzzle on most of the time, as he can be a bugger to get it back on once it has been taken off. They can be left on all the time 24/7 but I find they are prone to rubbing their face if left on for a long time.

Thanks, my 3yr old is putting on weight as is now out 24/7 on nice grass, he is in a taped off area so doesnt have all the field and we tried strip grazing last year. I want to muzzle him but work 9-5 so he will have a muzzle on from 8ish til 5.15ish, not sure he will be impressed with having a bright pink muzzle on but i need to control his weight.

My 2 are out during the day with muzzles on from about 8-30 to 6ish, then in all night so your times shouldn't be a problem.
On the rare times they decide not to be caught they wear their muzzles for 2 days and a night in successions, it's not done any harm yet.
