Just wondered what peoples views are, as i'm needing to get weight off a good-doer and increased exercise doesnt seem to be doing anything.

Cut the webbing away at the front to leave more ventilation. Stay with him to begin with and feed pony nuts, polos, carrots and grass in through the bottom so it is seen as a treat dispenser, not a torture device. Mine has extra padding up the sides which I put on.

I think they're a very good idea, but after 5days of using Buzz stopped being caught so had to give up on it untill we get catching sorted out again :/

If it weren't for mine I'd be very nervous about turning out for even the shortest time period. She gains weight just looking at food and I'd rather control her diet strictly to try and try and try to avoid another bout of lami at all costs.

Grazing muzzles are a must, your horse can stay out longer & you can manage their grass intake. If you have to modify the muzzle then you have either bought the wrong one or it is badly designed to start with. I believe that Greenguard are the best by far, they are expensive but a visit from the vet is much more costly. Some moan about them not fitting, you have to spend a little time ensuring the correct fit & then they are fine. One of mine has worn one for several years & his weight had been maintained & he is perfectly happy in it. He's a competition horse & the muzzle keeps him at an ideal weight ;)

Definitely a good thing. Horses can be out with their pals and getting some grass which keeps them happy. My Highland would spend at least 6 months of the year out of the field if it weren't for her muzzle!
If you introduce it gradually and build up the time wearing it slowly there shouldn't be a problem.
