Im looking at buying another grazing muzzle for the fatty as her current one is getting a bit worn, and now the snow has gone the grass has reappeared :(

Does anyone know if the Shires Nylon Grazing Muzzle (http://www.barnstormers.co.uk/acatalog/Muzzles.html - 3rd down) has a padded nose on it? As in around the top of the bucket? Have only bought the Roma comfort ones before but im placing an order on the website so trying to save on postage!

thank you!

Sorry I can't comment on the shires muzzle, but I can vouch for the place, I've ordered lots from barnstormers and always had a good service and they are very competitive price wise.

Yes, the Shires one does have padding around the nose. I've found that it did rub unless I cut the metal leading ring off the back though. Once I removed the ring I had no problems.

Thank you!! Will get shopping now :D Have used the company before so know they are reliable.

& thanks for the tip, will get the ring cut off on her old one & see if it helps. She had only just grown her fur back where it had been rubbing slightly :(

Sadly the greenguard one doesnt seem to fit her very well, she has a slightly odd shaped head! lol!

I'm sure mine was shires? I have a pony one that I just want minimal amount for if it's any help? Fitted a 12hh exmoor

Sadly of no help to me, but thanks for the offer! Mine only just squishes into a full despite only being 15hh! odd creature! lol!

I use the Dinky Ponies muzzle (they do all sizes)
They are great, fit well, well padded and allow them to eat and drink

Another thumbs up for the Dinky rugs muzzles, very light, padded, lots of safety features, however it is great for my mare but not my gelding as even the largest came up small for him so he wears a shires one and I have found that if you buy one slightly larger than you need then the rubbing is none existent, its does not having sheepskin type padding though more sort of a cushion effect material.

Yes, I found that the Shires ones came up rather small, I had to get cob size for my tiny pony. But once I'd got the bigger size there was very little rubbing at all.
