Ok so my TB X WB is getting a bit on the fat side and a tad hyper with all this rich grass, have spoke to a few people and everyone seems to be saying grazing muzzles  im willing to put one on him but at this current time im on a tight budget so need to fine a cheap yet effective one and where will be best to get one (best value) could you please give me your advise on which grazing muzzles you all find best for the horses and my pockets hehe

I use the dinky pony one ( they do larger sizes so should fit your boy :D) I just find the fit perfect and it has not rubbed at all. It takes some getting used to most start to eat with it on no trouble. Mine is still on hunger strike 8 weeks on.....bless her . She's living out and wears the muzzle 8 hours a day and has stopped her getting any bigger :).

I use a Roma comfort muzzle- this is my second year using it and it's still in good nick. I'm personally pleased with it, she hasn't been able to get it off (yet) so I'm happy with it and I like that it uses velcro. I can't remember how much mine was exactly but it wasn't too much, and considering I'm using it for the second year I don't think that's bad value.

Chestnut mare - the dinky pony ones do look quite good will need to see if they do have the bigger sizes ( hopefully they do) Whats the price range of them?

bryngelenponies - i will have a look at they ones thanks :)

KellysHeroes - Ive heard the shires ones rub quite badly, have you found that with yours?

I use a shires one too - but tied onto a headcollar or it'd be off in seconds.

I bought a Greenguard one, complete with special headcollar, a few months ago to try it out - he got it all off with one rub on a fence post.

don't waste money on greenguard. rubbish.

I have road tested several and cannot fault the roma comfort grazing muzzle. The headcollar part rubs but I've sewn sheepskin to it.

I think Roma is missing a trick...

My Shetland and my mums warmblood both have Dinky Rugs muzzles. They're really good and not as restrictive.... They come in XL, which I'd suggest for most horses unless the have find features. The measurements are on the website.
And apologies to anyone who saw me comment on a previous post. I promised to photo the underside of the muzzle, it's still on my list of things to do, just been a bit hectic the last week or so

I need to go and get one of these in the morning - my local countrywide seems to only sell kandece *SP products??

I use the Shires one, cost £12.95 from my local Saddlery, washed it a few times in the washer at home before using to soften the straps - works wonders. I also put an old sheepskin (fake) girth cover round the ears/cheeks to help prevent rubs. Its lasted well over 3 years now and been worth every penny. They are still at that price today too.

Have just bought a green guard with the headcollar, what is wrong with them??? Mine take turns it in turns to take each others fly masks off after around 10 seconds, was hoping the green guard would have more chances of survial!!
