My pony has got a very scurfy coat, main and tail. Ive been looking for something to improve it without huge exspence or wieght gain as she is a VERY good doer. Any advice or recomendations? Thanks x
I've tried loads of brushing every day and her coet comes up well when i've done it but it still seems to come back all the time. It's been like it all winter, do you think its because she is rugged up?
My lad's mane is very scurfy at the moment, due to having full neck covers on I suspect. Did wash it earlier this year when weather a bit milder but then it's come back again! Can't wait for spring so can do away with neck covers!
A slosh of vegetable oil in her feed (a couple of tablespoons) should help her lose the scurf, improve her skin and make her a bit shinier. If not biotin should work well. must say i know loads of people who are seeing this at the moment because their horse's coat is changing though so it may sort itself out.
Have been using veg oil for just over a week now and am def seeing an improvment. Think you are right though, as soon as it gets a bit warmer the rug's comming off and it'll be bath time YAY! Someone recomended lindseed as well, what do you think? I thought biotin was for stronger hoof??? am i miss informed?
A horse on livery has a very scurfy greast mane ans coat. We washed her with a shampoo called Polytar and after the first wash there was an amazing improvement. After the second it wasnt noticeable and after the third jsut to make sure its never come back again. And her mane was the worst case ive seen. Worth a ttry x
