greasy heel

does anyone know how to treat greasy heel, i have a shire x i have already chopped all his lovely feathers off last year, i frontline him about every 6 weeks and shampoo his legs in antibacterial shampoo about every 4 weeks, use pig oil but cant seem to get get rid of the scabs from the greasy heel, any ideas.

Well I'm not sure if it's similar to my cob's legs (he has scabs mostly on the backs of his knees and tight skin around his heels). However I've found that Camrosa works really well for him

my old farrier uses this on his shires and i have never looked back since he told me about it! its called selsun its an anti dandruff shampoo from chemist costs abour £4 put a blob of it in a bucket of warm water,wash the legs and rinse i did it every day til cleared up and once a week as a preventative it works wonders!good for mud rash too!
