I have been trying to find somewhere to keep a horse for ages, to no avail. Most of the yards around here are hunting/P2P/private yards. Does anyone on the forum have any knowledge of stables/grazing/livery in the area?
I was gonig to say your best bet is to ask around the hunt circles and yards if they know anywhere in the area as most place around there are hunting yards.
I think there is a livery yard at Holme Hale although that may be a bit far for you to travel, also if it isn't too far I did hear an eventer I was riding for possibly had a stable going and was considering taking on a livery. My friend has a horse on a yard at west acre there may be a vacancy there although again that is possibly too far but will ask for you.
Try asking around fransham and beeston as I can remember when I used to ride around the area for the West Norfolk hunt I always used to see a lot of horses around and someone is bound to have a bit of spare grazing or livery going.
I live the other side of the A47 and most of the yards this side are livery, sj or eventing yards where as all of them your side seem to be hunting yards as the hunt kennels are just up the road.
Shame you aren't this side though as there is a lovely yard in my village with 6 empty stables at the moment!
Holme Hale may be possible, but West Acre is definately too far. Do you know much about the Holme Hale one? The A47 is only 5 mins drive away.
I can't believe that there are 6 empty stables not that far away. That's typical!
I am horseless at the moment. I have been out of horses for a while and want to start up again. It's a bit of a catch-22 though because I don't want to seriously look for a horse until I find somewhere that I can keep one!! Either that or until I can afford a house with land of my own! Thanks for your help.
