Can anyone give me any info/personal experience please? Anyone bought a horse from them?
Thanks
Thanks
funnily enough I am on the yard just down from them! They are quite good with the higher priced horses, they are well worked etc. The lower priced I would be careful, they have a few from markets etc.
It's like all dealers, I would go and check them out a few times before you buy anything but they don't do anything seriously bad.
Thank you LHIS. Same here - someone mentioned them on one of the social media sites, so I took a look.
I might get shot down for this, but the part Welsh in the breeding lines concerns me a little as I don't want anything fizzy. I've only ever ridden 2 Welsh cobs and one was very safe and placid in an arena, but was a known bolter when out hacking and the other one was very sweet to handle, but very fizzy and hyper to ride... and he also bolted at every opportunity. So I'm hoping someone can give me a little info on the temperaments of farm's breeding lines.
I think if you were seriously interested you won't be able to gage this fully without visiting and finding out for yourself. As an owner of a Welsh D x Coloured cob (traveller type) I know the fizziness you mention, though because he has been brought on slowly and well it's not a worry. They're all different though, if the Welsh is just a smidge then it might be so diluted it won't have much bearing on their personalities. That being said, I also know some nutty traditional cobs.
Ha ha, my first coloured cob would fall into that category - he was quite nutty at times... I loved him, but wouldn't want another the same. I can cope with 'forward' and quite like that, but don't want anything unpredictable or 'hot'. I'll be doing a lot of hacking so want something sensible on the road.
My sisters horse came from Daniel. My sister is pleased with her. We know other horses backed by him and all have been nice - well started.
I have no experience of the horses he breeds at the farm but my opinion is he is a genuine, knowledgable horseman.
If I were selling mine he'd probably fit the bill! Hope you find something![]()
