Had decided to take May to a local bridleway today, brought her in from the field and it started raining

But loaded up and off we went. Considering its only about 6 miles away, got there and it was sunny

Very pleased with her behaviour as we went alone, she was soooo good!

The Zoo part was the best, they had some very strange noises coming from the 'dinasour' enclosure - fake ones that roar!!

May really enjoyed herself - some nice grassy bits for a good gallop! - spot Blackpool tower in the background!

Past the Lion enclosure - you could see the sat on the rock sunning themselves, but May would'nt stand still for me to get a proper piccie

A hot sweaty little horse ready to be untacked and get home!

What a good girl! You managed not to take out any dog walkers or runners in the fast work today? (Not implying that you usually do, BTW!) It always seems busy there to me. K was a naughty, naughty pony today, decided that there was something VERY scarey in the farmer's yard 10 yards from home at the start of the hack, piroutted round and made for home. She took me by surprise - I was fiddling with my coat - oops. Luckily the car that was coming stopped, pulled in and switched off his engine as we proceeded to make many mountains out of molehills. Got past in the end but she is in the bad books now with me - as you know I expect perfect behaviour at all times. So please tell K to be more like May in future!

Oooh naugty Kangaroo! It was'nt particuarly busy, few walkers and dogs - did nearly take out one doggie on our first gallop, the people looked shocked - I mean what would a horse be doing on a bridleway on a sunday afternoon???????????? They should stick to the walkers path then should'nt they!!

I thought May would freak at the dinasour noises, but she did'nt bat an eyelid, the poor dog coming past (huge dog) was really scared! She did'nt seem to sense the lions - thought she would have played up being on her on, but was really good!

My old horse hated the smell of the big cats there one day - could not get out of there fast enough! Maybe horse's brains don't recognise dinosaur roars as danger as they weren't around on earth at the same time (dinos died out thousands of years b4 mammals came along, didn't they?) or maybe Blackpool Zoo's "guesses" at what dinos sounded like aren't very accurate - after all - how do they know?
