Great Leighs Racecourse - Good news they have a buyer

Yippee, hopefully Terry Chambers is buying the racecourse and am sure that he will make it a successful equestrian venue not just a racing venue for all us Essex peeps so hopefully this time next year he will be running other equestrian events there like he does at Ashfields.

Theres a new one opened at Felstead, first one is August this year I think.

Another good one at Stapleford Abbotts, Brook Farm.

Don't think they run eventing at Brook Farm, just showjumping & dressage.

Does anyone know what's become of John Homes, the former owner? When it was still the Essex County Showground, he had plans to run top-class show jumping events as well as the racing.

Heard John Holmes had gone abroad, don't know how true it was but think you will find that Terry Chambers will turn it into an equestrian venue the same as he has done at Ashfields, he runs lots of events there and rents it to a couple of riding clubs as well. That is the rumour on the circuit which was started late last year before JH went bankrupt.
