Hi

Just wanted to say what a great schooling session i had with my 5 yr old gelding today.
I've had him just over 2 months now, when i first got him he was really ploddy and slow couldnt walk or trot in school in a staright line (very green) and he was really difficult to canter. He has been getting better over the last week or so but today he was soo good, he now walks and trots straight, he's very forward in walk and trot and dont have to nudge constantly, he's very eager to canter (a bit too eager sometimes

lol) and soon as i ask he goes straight away and with lots of energy and enthusiasm, and he actually has a really nice balanced canter and quite speedy lol which i like. I'm just sooo pleased with him and how much he has got better, i did feel a bit disheartened a few weeks back but now i can see improvements it was so worth it.
Anyway sorry it was so long just wanted to tell people!

Yes its funny with babies, sometimes you plod on and dont think your getting anywhere, then before you know it your on to something else. Well done it is very rewarding, i have a 5yo too.

Thats great

It's so rewarding when they improve and learn new things!
My 4 year old (backed for just over 3 weeks now) understood her first lateral aid last night i.e. I nudged with my left leg coz she wasn't bending properly and she moved away from it and started to bend

Despite certain people on my yard thinking she should already be working perfectly straight at this stage and bitching about me behind my back - hey ho!

I thinks she's doing well and that's all that matters
