You should go and pin that to their gate.

I always think it's really scary when I see pictures like that. I never wore hi vis until I came on here so thanks HHO. You all really did teach me the error of my ways!

Iamsanta, look at the two telegraph poles on the right and side and go to the left of the second one, a very well blended in horse and rider :)

It's quite scary really!
I never wore hi-viz unless I rode in the dark until a couple of horses rode past our house one afternoon and I completely missed the dark bay and the girl riding in dark clothes! Made me realise how easily myself and Kelly could be missed, so now we go out all vizzed up, every day, anytime!

Good picture. Doubt it will do anything though, some people will continue to value their vanity above their lives, their horses lives and the lives of other road users :(

I love my hi-viz! I'm always on the lookout for more. I asked for the whole Polite range for Xmas :D (I know it's a long way off, I have plenty, I just want the Polite stuff!)

I always encourage people to get as much hi-viz as possible! I might even buy my friend some for her birthday as she doesn't have any yet (new horse)

very informative (not the best word?) picture regarding hi vis. Or illustrative (is that even a word? I mean it illustrates your point very well...)

That is sadly very true.
Girl on our old yard refused point blank to wear hi-viz as it "made her look like a dork"
Better that than looking dead as a doornail!
Ought to be law really that you are HIGHLY visable when out on the road.

After 2 weeks of constant rain we needed the sun! What a great weekend we had. It's raining again today.
I have no idea who the rider is because my husband took the photo whilst on a bike ride (wearing bright clothing may I add). It's a fairly quiet road but even still. I never noticed them at first either in the photo.

Luckily all my hacking is off road

Sorry but that is still no excuse not to wear hi-vis. After a friend falling off on her own with no hi vis on, an air ambulance/search & rescue spent half an hour longer than they could have done because they couldn't see her! Luckily it wasn't too serious but if it had have been
Please please please wear hi-vis, it's not just for cars to see you!

I had to make the point to my friends today. I was saying that I'd bought a bright yellow top from Primark and intended to stick hi-viz bits to it. They said they like hi-viz, but don't wear it out if they don't have to go along the roads.
They didn't seem to understand the point :\ even after I explained!

We even go out into the Forest Bridle ways Hi vizd top to toe. My theory is that any dog walkers will see me coming from about 100 miles away, and get their wayward dogs under control before we get to them.
