Anyone have any info on this event? Is it a nice event in terms of warm ups/ground etc?

Looking to do the Novice here as a June event and not been b4, usually go to Stratford Hills but ground can be quite hard there. Thought it was quite a way from me but it says Oxon and Hambleden is Oxon so hopefully not to far!!

Also who was the photographer last yr?

Oxfordshire is a really big county. Hambledon is in South Oxfordshire about 10 mins up the road from me. Great Tew is North Oxfordshire and takes me well over an hour in a box, (and is further off the motorway than Hambledon) so I'd plan your route carefully before entering.

GT is a fabulous event.
I competed both Winston and Snoopy there.
Dressage warm up is on the flat but a little tight on space. SJ is atmopheric due to being in the centre of the whole event with xc running alongside.
XC is undulating, built and designed by Mike Etherington smith so use of big timber but encouraging, horses tend to jump well round it.
Its all on old turf so even in the height of summer going is good.
Id say its similar to Purston, SJing is up to height but not many questions xc bar drop to skinny and skinny triple brush and a couple of angled skinny houses.

It rides very well.

i went last year and i is a lovley event..
only thing i could complain about was lack of space for dressage warm up..
SJ is up to hight (same jumps as Highclere) and XC is quite big but not technical and is beautifully built, ground is good old turf.. all set in lovely parkland, lots of big trees to shelter under.! (was hot when i went there last year)..
i will def be going again this year!!!!
