I hooked up my pressure washer to clean the side of my house yesterday, and just had to see what it could do, i rounded up every bit of horse equipment and pressure washed it. They all look amazing an the colour hasn't come out!

I always do my turnouts like that at the end of the winter. I wont let the rug cleaning people do them cos i have always found they leak afterwards, even if re proofed.
By pressure hosing, then leaving to dry they seem to stay waterproof

Yes that's the problem.. you should look and check what the weather will be like for the next few days.. although we can always rely on this British weather!

We pressure wash ours sometimes too. Wouldn't dare do it now, the weather here has been like winter for days now.

I'm a horrible mummy - when my horses come in with wet and muddy rugs I hose them off from nose to toe with the rugs on and get the mud off while it's still wet

Yep Zalacca I do that too, Norwegian winter is very harsh rain and snow for 8 months, light at 10am and dark at 3pm , I hose legs and rugs when I bring them in...I hate a handful of mud when undoing surcingles ukk!

I cleaned my rugs 2 days ago (12 outdoor) with hose and brush, my OH comes back from turning the hay when I am on my last two knackered and sweating buckets (30 degrees) and he says "sweetheart if you had said I would have hooked up the industrial pressure washer, would have been much quicker and easier"... I was not happy, I did tell him before he went I was going to wash the rugs..not a bloody word about any pressure washer!

Men, but can't complain I got my 285 bales of hay, hopefully next cut 300 more...

This might seem a silly question, but do you pressure wash the inside too, or just the outside? It sounds a great idea.

I wash inside and out! - great for those stubborn stains!

The only problem is drying them. I wait for a dry day then hang them on my washing line. I also was saddle cloth/chaps/horse boots/head collars and even the horse box!
