Great Westwood report

So set off to go to Great Westwood for the team XC today - was just in the 2ft 6 - 2ft 9 class on both of them so a nice easy run for them. Only took and hour to get there so that was good.

Walked the course and it was a decent course easily Intro I thought, and a chair right by the hedgerow with black bin liners next to it!! (thought hmmm Spider wont like that!!) Having an issue with spooky hedgerows lately, not the fences but the surroundings!!!

Anyway Mac was first which I hate!! I always ride Spider 1st at a BE event, anyway he warmed up well, and flew round the course clear straight through the water etc which was cool.

So warmed up Spider and she warmed up well, so out of start box and she jump 1 and 2 good much more fluent then Munstead then came no 4 with the hedgerow surprisingly didnt look like I thought she would so caught me out and spooked and ducked out left and I fell off!!

was half off an don so bailed out!! Fell on my ankle and twisted it which is my ankle ove broken a few times and has a weakness! So waited for the pain to subside got a leg up and off we went again cantered up to the fence and she flew it! So annoying!! Then was a bit sticky over the next few fences as I didnt want to fall off again!! But after a few fences was flying again and jumped the trekaner (SP!) ditch water etc fine and was flowing. So obvioulsy just a baby moment and just have to keep plugging away at her!! Bless her!!

So anyway on to the results!! My team ame 4th! yey and shock horror............Mac was Individual 1st!!!!

Couldnt believe it two weeks in a row he has won XC!!!

quite a natural I think!! So seriously considering after the season - if he does well!! buying him! But we will see how e goes over the next few months!!

Anyway well done for getting this far!! Am off to Norton Heath tomorrow for BSJA with Spider!!

Well done brilliant result, its nice up there, well it was last time i was there! Did see all the lorries up there today as we drrove past to MKEC

) - spoke to you at your lorry but didn't introduce myself!!

You did fab, Mac's round looked storming (I was fence judge at the trakehner!). Well done for coming first!!

Shame about the fall - and I made a wonderful balls up over the course walkie talkies - said 'the rider is seated - on the floor I mean!!' which made my fellow judge chuckle!!

I thought it was a lovely course, although the organisation was a bit hit and miss - I'm sure it was just a lack of manpower though.

He is super and has taken to XC very well after doing SJing mostly. Hopefully he will get some good results PN now!

The course was nice but I thought the ground was quite hard

Ah, that must have been Tori's influence - that was her fence!

The ground was hard - I should know, I went flying on to it with great force after having to dive out of the way of someone with no steering.......she obviously didn't know that running over jump judges incurs huge penalties!! Was not impressed in the slightest - didn't even have the courtesy to apologise

Shame about Spider, I looked up at fence 4 and you were on the floor! She's a sweetie though.

I had a great day - although did get a bit flustered, what with Twigs being stolen away from me to judge the Trakhener, having 5 A&B & 6 to judge and generally being far to scatty!
 
Think just practise practise practise for Spider!! Off XC schooling on Sat b4 Hambledon PN!

Took her to NH outdoor BSJA today and she was great flew evenything just having a pole so was pleased with her!
