Great Witchingham - Thursday - CANCELLED
Due to the recent adverse weather conditions competition on Thursday at Great Witchingham Horse Trials has been cancelled, a decision will be made at 5pm on Thursday 20th March regarding Friday and Saturday.

Had another jump lesson tonight and he was great will be just my luck it will cancel

I'm not surprised, the ground was just about drying up today but the rain arrives tomorrow. I do hope this isn't going to be another year of cancelled events...

Can't see Fri or Sat running as the weather is forecast to be worse on those days.

My trainer is in England at the mo, and I see from bdwp that he has 4 horses running (all on Thursday). It isn't showing as cancelled on there though.

See ive seen different on BBC and Met it says heavy rain Thurs, light rain Fri & Sat.

Really hope it does run

as looks like by above post Norton Heath could be out if strangles at Longwood is confirmed

It's the winds on Fri that will be the problem. cancellation is showing on BE

Maybe they've cancelled Thursday to try and save the ground for Friday and Saturday?

Oh dear - Rosie and Bertie won't be able to get their qualification for going Intermediate so I suppose they won't be able to do the U25 at SOE or Belton

Sorry - have seen it now on bdwp (the great witch page), I was searching under a rider name before and it was still giving out times.

Is it not strange that they've cancelled the day with the big classes (I, OI, AI) and are potentially going to run the N, PN classes. I would have thought it would have been the other way about.

I live not far from Witchingham and we are forecast pretty crappy weather for the whole of the Easter weekend - wind and white stuff...

Can't see the other days running TBH, after all the dreadful accidents last year they have to be safety cautious and not run on dodgy ground.

If they cancel th e'big' day then can't see the others running.

I was suppose to be going on sat but after my accident on monday i can't ride. OH had 3 to ride this weekend but we've decided if its still on we're not running our horses, its a good 4/5 hour drive and they dont go too well in the wet ground. Good Luck to those braving it. Hopefully it'll still be on for you xx

See...there we go again... if you only managed to get in at Witchie, and its now cancelled, youve got nothing else in our area until the end of May....

If BE had spread the local events out, we wouldnt have been in this situation....
