Im trying to find the cheapest place to buy this for my ned after a serious cartilage injury, and ur views on it. Thanks

I don't know about the cheapest place, but as you probably already know it's the active ingredient in Pernamax from Maxavita.

Opinion seems to be divided on the effectiveness of this product. I found it helped my arthritic mare a lot, although it's quite hard to feed as horses don't generally like the taste and I had to grind the tablets with a hoof pick.

Some people on here swear by it, and others says it did nothing for their horses.

I can see why you might want to try it as it's a natural anti-inflammatory and chondroitin is supposed to help repair. However it's no substitute for vet strength pharmaceuticals so if you're dealing with a severe injury then I would go with whatever your vet is recommending first, and then perhaps ask him about using it alongside. Vets often prescribe GLM. If you have insurance, you would then be able to claim the cost of it and pay nothing.

I buy it from Holland and Barrett, its WAY cheaper than maxavita. Buy the capsules, you can just pull them apart and add the powder to the feed. I feed 5 a day.

I have to say I'm one of the people who swears by Pernamax. Having tried Cortaflex, Synequin, Cosequin, Aviform Supplease Gold, etc, etc, with no noticeable effects, within 2 weeks of using Pernamax, my big warmblood with DJD in his hocks was a different horse - he's been on it for 6 months now and thinks he's a 2yo! He is now returning to competition.
