Hi all

Has anyone brought one of these for their horses?

I was thinking of getting one for our lot for mainly for my filly to play with as the other horses are older and I think they get a bit annoyed when she wants to play!

Are they tough? She is quite rough and has already broke water buckets from 'playing with them'

"Green Parelli Balls"... oh dear, I have a list of possible replies to this. But they'd all involve TFC sending me off on "holiday" for a while.

I have also been wondering about these

Wanting one doesnt make you necessarily want to follow Parelli (I know I dont!) but I am interested in one purely as a de-spooking tool and for my youngsters to push around

We have roll along treat balls for example and people give their horses space hoppers to play with

Seems to me this is a genuine question by the OP, I hope it doesnt get silly!

Get a cheap gym ball to see if she plays with it. If she breaks it she can't hurt herself, but they're only cheap.

My 11 yr old mare played with an escaped one in the school once, which at the time caused much hilarity, that was of course until she relised that the treats just were not going to come out!!!:D:D

I'm not going to be doing any parelli with her, I don't do it with any of my horses, I just wanted something for her to play with in the field.

Can't really put a treat ball in as our field has our herd of 6 in it so it could cause arguments/fights

I got just a cheapy gymm ball for my 3 year old warmblood. He likes to play with things and I put it in the arena with him whilst I was mucking out one day. He looked at it, sniffed it then walked off. My friends little pony, however, loves it and has great fun!

With VAT added that's £52 ! Wow, that's brazenly impressive on the profiteering, er,sorry, marketing front.

I bought a gym ball for a fiver from TK. Maxx and it lasted a couple of years daily play by my lot. It was also good for ridden football and hockey.

Horse toys for training also sell these balls.
We ve found them useful for despooking horses, both online and at liberty.
They are quite strong - but ours got punctured [mended and puntured again] from ending up in a hawthorn hedge.
