While driving through Elvesdon towards Norfork I saw green plastic sheet all round a field about 18inches high. Has anyone any idea what this is for?

Elvedon Cross Country course is closing soon. The southern part of the A11 (the non-dualled bit) is being dualled so there's some landgrab needed for that. Not sure if the Elvedon crosscountry course is going under tarmac permanently or is being used by contractors during the building works.
Anyway, we have until end of October to ride there.

The green plastic is where the trees are to be felled also around the horse course to make way for the new road sadly, I got this email yesterday:
Dear Customer,
It is with great regret that I am writing to inform you that the horse course is now closed. This was completely unexpected and is the result of changes to the Highways Agency's schedule of roadworks. We had previously understood that it could stay open until at least November, but have now been informed that tree felling will be taking place imminently, so the horse course can no longer be used safely.
We are unaware at this time of whether we might be able to re-open it at any point in the future, but at this moment it seems unlikely.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for using the horse course in the past and I do very much apologise for the "chopping and changing" we appear to be doing with the closure of it. It has always been our intention to continue offering it as a service to our customers for as long as we possibly could, it is just a shame that the reprieve didn't last as long as we had hoped or anticipated.
I will keep you informed of any future positive developments to the horse course.

So basically it will be a road next time you go down it which will be a massive shame.
