I need some help,I.m doing an advertsement feature in the paper i work for and have decided this months product page will be.....

'8 steps to a greener yard'

So far i have a reclcled bedding producer, rug washing in bulk with a company, organic fertillizer and weed killer company but now im stuck...

Any ideas o n how to make your yard greener

Encourage car sharing or cycle/walk/use public transport whenever possible to get to the yard.

Use buckets and sponges rather than hosepipes.

Have a recycle bin at the yard for paper/cans etc.

God that advert is annoying.

collect as much rainwater as possible and use it before turning on the tap.
recycle plastic bags that bedding and haylage comes in.
offer manure for collection. maybe if you have a local allotment, ask them if they'd like a trailerful of manure occasionally... they go mad for it usually!
hand-weeding the fields instead of using fertiliser.
home-made flyspray rather than chemicals.
aromatherapy oils to keep stables smelling fresh, rather than using stable disinfectant chemical.
can't think of any others offhand.

I'm on an 'eco yard' and we use numerous water butts (about 15!)
Solar panel and wind turbines to generate enough electricity to run the whole yard and arena.
